So what is a Vision Board?
It's not rocket science, but it's equally valuable and incredibly practical.
A Vision Board is a collage of words and images that represents your goals, intentions and aspirations.
Your Vision Board can serve a central purpose, whether it’s focusing on your career progression, team goals, wellbeing intentions, retirement plans, and more. It's particularly effective during times of transition - such as starting a new chapter, embarking on a leadership program, approaching a birthday, beginning a new job, returning to work from parental leave…
The process empowers you to visualise what's the best that can happen, rather than what's the worst that can happen - this sets you up for success. It's all about cultivating the right mindset, maintaining focus, and finding the motivation to pursue your overarching WHY, or noticing the golden nuggets in today.
The magic lies in reflecting on life, gaining clarity on your goals and intentions, fostering self-belief, and crating this motivational tool that keeps you on track. Your Vision Board serves as a constant reminder of your purpose, guiding you through moments of disillusionment and reigniting your passion. This is where the transformative change begins.
For six years now, I have been creating my own personal Vision Boards. Every January, I take the time to reflect on my current position in life and visualise the year ahead. I hang it beside my bed. It serves as a daily reminder to seize opportunities, appreciate the present, and actively shape the life I want to live.
